Plan Modifier

Overview

The Plan Modifier Agent is designed to maintain consistency across your project's documentation, such as architecture diagrams, user stories, and general plans. It accepts high-level, natural language change requests (e.g., "change all instances of X to Y") and systematically applies these edits across relevant markdown files in the repository.

Crucially, this agent is strictly limited to modifying documentation and planning artifacts; it will never touch or modify code files, configuration, or formal specification documents located in a specs/ directory.

Capabilities

• High-Level Change Parsing: Interprets vague requests into concrete search and replace operations.
• Targeted File Search: Scans all markdown files except those within the designated specs/ folder.
• Context-Aware Editing: Applies changes while striving to preserve surrounding formatting, context, and Markdown structure.
• Change Summarization: Provides a detailed summary report of every file modified and what specific changes were implemented for easy review.

Example Use Cases

1. Terminology Standardization: If your project name or an external service name changes (e.g., from 'OldAPI' to 'NewService'), you can ask the agent to update all references across all planning documents.
2. Process Updates: When a workflow step is retired or updated, this agent can systematically remove outdated mentions from requirement documents.
3. Cross-Document Cleanup: Use it to ensure that acronyms or key feature names are uniform throughout your entire set of user stories and architectural overviews.
